In order to assist our Members in embedding Green ICT practices, and working in partnership with our Strategic Partner IT Schools for Africa, the EAUC wanted to research the main barriers and problems to institutional participation in recycling schemes for retired or redundant ICT equipment. To better understand the issues involved and to learn from those institutions that have already implement such schemes, we asked Members of the EAUC Green ICT Community of Practice (COP) to take part in a short survey on the subject.

We received 20 responses to the survey and an overview of the results is presented in this Insight Guide. It is hoped that the information will help Members considering introducing a recycling or re-use scheme in their own institution.
