With the Government’s current interest in the environment and all things ‘green’, the legislation that affects the further and higher education sector is changing all the time. With new Acts of Parliament, changing regulations and updates to guidelines, it is hard for anyone to keep track but knowing how to comply is a must.

How will the new 2011 waste legislation affect you?

The main legislative framework for waste in Europe, the Waste Framework Directive, has been revised. As a result, in April 2011, The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011, The Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2011 and The Waste (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2011 were introduced to enforce the changes to this directive across the UK.
