Sustainability through environmental professionalism

Through Royal Charter, the Society for the Environment is the body responsible for the registration of environmental professionals. The Society is the custodian of the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech) registers, and since 2004 have established a sound platform as the body tasked with championing and registering the expertise of environmental professionals.

Being a CEnv or REnvTech is about having the professional knowledge, experience and commitment to apply sustainable thinking throughout your daily working life. Professional registration is widely recognised as a mark to be trusted and carries a strong reputation for quality around the world.

Do you want to stand out from the crowd and showcase your environmental knowledge and expertise? Provide assurance of your competence to employers and/or clients by becoming a CEnv or REnvTech.

The need for chartered and registered environmental professionals is growing, and the Society is growing to reflect this. The environment is not constrained by borders, be it geographical or between industry sectors, and neither are we.

We are in a unique position, bringing together a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of environmental professionals. As an umbrella organisation, the Society works alongside a range of Licensed Bodies to register environmental professionals and to ensure the quality, relevance and awareness of our registrations.

In addition to holding your registration as an environmental professional, the Society offers opportunities to get involved and showcase your work, provides the latest environmental news from across sectors and informs you of relevant upcoming events.

Please note that you must be a member of one of our Licensed Bodies in order to become a CEnv or REnvTech.

Royal Charter

The Society operates under a Royal Charter which mandates us to promote the advancement of, the dissemination of, knowledge of, and education in good environmental practice for the public benefit.

Sustainability Policy

In short, we firmly believe in practicing what we preach. With sustainability being at the heart of our organisation, it is also at the heart of our ways of working. We want to make the biggest possible positive impact upon the environment whilst having the smallest possible footprint.
