Adventures in Sustainability
28th May – 27th May 2013 18:00 – 20:30
Could a spirit of adventure lead us toward sustainable living?
"Adventures in Sustainability" is a celebration of sustainability exploration with leading entrepreneurs, explorers, musicians, cyclists, intellectuals and wild swimmers. It will convene over 200 international sustainability leaders for an inspiring evening at the Royal Geographical Society, in London. www.sustainabilityadventures.com
At the global home and heritage centre of the world's most famous expeditions, we will hear inspiring stories from explorer and broadcaster Paul Rose, environmental travel writer Kate Rawles, former Faithless band cofounder and 1 Giant Leap producer Jamie Catto, Wild Swimming author Daniel Start, sustainability communications guru Ed Gillespie, and Professor of Sustainability Leadership Jem Bendell. We will also tour the exhibition of the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest. Earlybird tickets available before the end of March with the code EARLYBIRD from

The event marks the launch of the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS), part of the University of Cumbria. Based at a campus specialising in experiential learning within the beautiful Lake District, IFLAS is already emerging as a global hub of inquiry and education on the transition to a fair and sustainable society. It currently co-runs the world's largest specialist sustainability MBA with Robert Kennedy College.

The event is made possible by the support of Impact International and Robert Kennedy College. Support is also provided Future Perfect, B4E (Business for the Environment) and Greenleaf Publishing. Opportunities are still available to enable the webcasting and filming of the event, and make this become the annual celebration of the ambitious sustainability profession. Contact IFLAS Founding Director, Professor Jem Bendell, if able to help (jem dot bendell at cumbria.ac.uk)
Joining the LinkedIn group of the new Institute is one way of connecting with other sustainable leaders and contributing to the emerging agenda:
