The event will be delivered by Michelle Dixon, Director of Revise and Lead Author of the EAUC Biodiversity Guide, a Flagship Project for the United Nations Environment Programme.
 

Get up to date with national developments and put plans in place to conserve, enhance and create biodiversity on your campus.

Did you know that the sum total of university and college estates in the UK is bigger than the Isle of Wight? Think about all that space, now think about all the opportunities you have to make a real national difference by keeping your campus ecologically diverse and environmentally friendly.

With the recent release of the UK National Ecosystem Assessment and the Natural Environment White Paper, it is ever pertinent that universities and colleges step up their efforts on conserving and enhancing biodiversity on their campuses.

So the EAUC has organised this FHE bespoke training event to help you adhere to your Public Duty to conserve biodiversity and make a positive impact on your campus and wider communities.
 

Understand:

• The importance of managing biodiversity on campus including overview of legal requirements
• How to get senior management commitment
• How to survey and create biodiversity management plans
• How to create ground maintenance and works plan

This course is for:
 

• Environmental Managers
• Estates and Grounds Maintenance Staff
• Or Sustainability officers who can influence or who are responsible for biodiversity policy and management practices on University or College Campuses.
