Carbon Reduction Commitment Conference

30th Apr 2009 00:00

I am delighted to report that EIC is running a major conference jointly with the Department for Energy and Climate Change and the Environment Agency on the Carbon Reduction Commitment.

Joan Ruddock MP, Minister for the Carbon Reduction Commitment, will be the keynote speaker at the conference, which will take place on 30 April 2009 in central London.

The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) is a mandatory auction based cap and trade scheme covering carbon emissions from large commercial and public sector organisations (including supermarkets, hotel chains, Government Departments, and large local authorities). The CRC will cover large businesses and public sector organisations whose 2008 half-hourly metered electricity use is above 6,000 MWh.

EIC’s Carbon Reduction Commitment conference will be vital for:

 Helping those organisations that will be operating under the Carbon Reduction Commitment - and their supply chains - understand their responsibilities under the Scheme
 Understanding how the Carbon Reduction Commitment will work
 Understanding the RISKS and the BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES that the Carbon Reduction Commitment will create for your company
 Excellent opportunities for networking, for further business and partnerships

The current recession will not reduce the impact of the Carbon Reduction Commitment. It is a mandatory scheme and organisations covered will have to invest in carbon reduction solutions. This is an essential event for understanding the opportunities this will create.
