Citizenship in Hospitality, Tourism, Events, Sport and Leisure Management
11th Apr 2011 09:30 – 17:00
Conference brief
As Hospitality, Tourism, Events Sport, and Leisure (HTESL) management industries are led by staff service and encounter; profits are enabled by the employee’s soft skills for cultural awareness, social cohesion and entrepreneurial initiative. These soft skills also link to the citizenship behaviours noted in Organ’s (1988) Organisation Citizenship behaviour, thus enabling effective employment in not only HTESL areas, but a range of industries upon graduation. In mind of these employability skills within citizenship education this conference aims to give academics information and practical advice on what citizenship education is, how it can be used for employability skills for industry and how it links to current units taught.
This joint conference is aimed at lecturers and educators in the vocational areas of HTESL management. As a one day conference it will give attendees information on the following;
