Creating the Intelligent Campus

The EAUC is collaborating with HEEPI on this free event regarding high performance buildings and campuses. The ‘Intelligent Campus’ workshop is an informal, interactive 1/2 day event that focuses on two key issues for tomorrow's Estate. Should all future Estates activities be carried out on a common Internet Protocol (IP) platform? And will this, plus the crucial need to design IT requirements into all new and refurbished buildings from the start to facilitate ‘virtual learning', mean that Estates and IT departments have to work more closely together, and perhaps even merge?

The event feature a presentation from Ave Maria University, a new institution in Florida which is seen as a ‘leading edge' intelligent campus in the US. The University says that this has created significant space, cost and energy savings.
