Embedding Sustainability into the Curriculum

29th Jun 2011 09:00 – 12:45

A key responsibility of institutions is to deliver teaching and learning that is relevant to students and society. With increasing environmental, social and of course economic pressures on all institutions, it is important that they are able to respond to these and prepare the students for the challenges of sustainability in the workplace and daily life. This workshop will explore Education for Sustainable Development, and show how institutions can practically integrate these considerations into the curriculum. The workshop will draw on a range of best practice and by the end of the session; each participant will have a plan to take ESD forward in their organisation, with the tools and confidence to do so. If institutions have already started the ESD journey this session will provide a useful opportunity to critically review their progress and assist a successful growth & continuation of their work.
