Free Conference - Setting up Bus Services that Serve Your Needs

3rd Dec 2010 12:17

The University of Hertfordshire, in conjunction with its bus company (UNO) is holding a free to attend workshop/conference for interested parties to find out about the bus services the company provides for its staff, students and the wider community, which forms part of it Travel Plan Strategy.

The event will take place at the University of Hertfordshire on the 3 December 2010 (between 10.00 & 15.00), with presentations from UNO's Chair and Managing Director/Operations Manager. There will also be the opportunity for an open discussion, where delegates can pose questions. In addition, a tour of UNO's bus depot and the University's Park & Ride facility will be available following a light lunch.

Dr Stephen Joseph (OBE) from the Campaign for Better Transport will be presenting details of a local Quality Partnership, (called Network St Albans) which is a local transport partnership between Hertfordshire County and District Councils, public transport operators (including UNO) and the University of Hertfordshire.

The event is intended to begin a dialogue with representatives from University/Colleges who may be interested in setting up an UNO style operation in partnership with the company. Further details of this process can be viewed on the attached document.
