National Sustainable Schools Conference June 2010
4th Jun – 25th Jun 2010 15:33
This successful annual conference gives you the chance to hear national speakers, network and share experience with like-minded participants, access and review new resources, and for you to plan your year ahead. Teachers and students understand that we must live and think more sustainably and our schools play a pivotal role in developing these essential skills and knowledge.
"The conference enabled me to share best practice ideas, meet new contacts and hear inspiring stories. Confirmation that what I am doing is valued and effective". Denise Lambert, 2009 Participant
The conference workshop themes have been specially designed to demonstrate the National Sustainable Schools Framework, help you plan to achieve the government target of becoming a sustainable school by 2020, and, highlight new guidelines for local authorities to support sustainable schools, including the Carbon Reduction Commitment.
To support and encourage you in starting or continuing your sustainability journey, four events will be held around the country in June 2010.
Peak District: 4th June 2010 Losehill Hall, Hope Valley
Newcastle: 8th June 2010 Centre for Life, Times Square
London: 18th June 2010 at the Wellcome Exhibition Centre, London
Bristol: 25th June 2010 Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo
The conference also includes a market place of organisations and resources that support sustainable schools held over lunchtime with presentations and films.
If you cannot make one of these dates then join in our Online Interactive Conference. Take part in facilitated workshops, discussions, listen to key note speakers and get the workshop outputs and presentations from the countrywide events. All this without travelling anywhere! All conference delegates also have automatic access to this online conference to share and learn from the other events. This proved to be a huge, valuable resource for everyone last year!
