New and Refurbished Labs at Warwick
New and Refurbished Labs at Warwick
13th Dec 2012 11:01
This
free workshop features two recent Warwick science developments – the new
BREEAM Excellent Materials and Analytical Sciences Building (MASB) and the refurbished Chemistry Teaching Laboratories (CTL).
Synopsis
The £24m MASB is designed to encourage interaction between physicists and chemists by putting its ‘science on show’ in an open plan rectilinear block comprising laboratory and office space. The £2.5 million CTL project was short listed for the S-Lab Awards and aimed at creating a high quality learning environment with a ‘wow’ factor for current and prospective undergraduate students, whilst emitting 80% less carbon than the previous facilities.
Afternoon breakout sessions will focus on Energy Efficiency in Laboratories from both technical and user viewpoints. We’ll also have demonstrations of our real time displays of fume cupboard energy consumption.
Tickets
The event is being held in collaboration with S-Lab and the JISC-financed, University of Bradford/SusteIT, DELTA project on lab informatics and building/energy information systems, tickets are
free and can be booked
