Overview of new climate adaptation funding opportunity

18th Jun 2025 13:30 – 15:30

SWM is involved in the MACC Hub as an engagement partner covering the whole of England, and to support the development of non-academic outputs. Through the MACC Hub comes a new funding opportunity for community adaptation activity.

The MACC Hub Flexible Fund call will fund up to 10 projects, each receiving £50-55,000 for up to 12 months. Lead applicants must be based at a UK academic institution eligible for UKRI funding. The call strongly encourages academic-community collaborations, with the lead partner working in close partnership with local organisations such as community groups, local authorities, businesses and third sector organisations. Other stakeholder groups may be involved where relevant to the project goals. Projects should be:
Grounded in meaningful community engagement
Focused on implementing or scaling adaptation actions
Centred on vulnerable groups most at risk from climate change

This event will introduce the call, support project idea development, and help connect potential collaborators. There are two identical events taking place, one is on 18 June and another is on 8 July (10:00 – 12:00). You do not need to attend both events as they will cover identical content.
