Panel on Climate Action Leadership in Higher Education in a Volatile World.

Following the recent publication of sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, this forum presents a timely opportunity for the tertiary education sector to further reflect on its pivotal role in addressing climate change.

Organised by Global Climate Change Week in advance of GCCW-2021 (18 to 24 October), the panel brings together some of the most senior academic climate action leaders to reflect on the current efforts and future needs.

Panel members are:

• Professor Rufus Black, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania, Australia, and leading the Global Climate Change Week initiative
• Professor Ian Jacobs, Vice-Chancellor of the University of New South Wales, Australia, and leading the International Universities Climate Alliance initiative
• Professor James Longhurst, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Environment & Sustainability, of the University of the West of England and leading EAUC, the Climate Leadership in Higher Education initiative
• Steve Muzzy, Climate Programs Senior Manager, leading the Second Nature initiative
• Dr Stacy Richards-Kennedy, Office of Global Partnerships and Sustainable Futures, The University of the West Indies, and leading the Global University Consortium on SDG-13.
