Invitation to People & Planet's Green League consultation event

As one of our key stakeholders, we'd like to invite you to feedback on the Green League 2010 and look ahead to the development and publication of the Green League 2011. A consultation event will take place on Thursday 16th September at Oxford Brookes University.

We've already received lots of helpful feedback from universities, researchers and students on this year's Green League processes, stakeholder resources and the results themselves. This meeting will be an opportunity to draw all that feedback together into recommendations and have a frank, open discussion about the Green League's strengths and weaknesses in measuring UK universities' transition to a low-carbon future.

We are commencing work on the development of the Green League 2011 much earlier this year and your input to this process will be invaluable in shaping a simplified, efficient process for future Green Leagues which gives maximum results without placing additional burdens on estates/environment managers and other relevant staff. We'll be using the event to recruit and formally establish this year's Green League Oversight Group – a group of stakeholders who'll engage throughout the development process for 2011.

It will also be an opportunity to gain an insight into our future plans for the Green League, exciting new media partnerships and the development of criteria for 2011. The event will provide a space to critically review the impact and effectiveness of criteria in previous Green Leagues and the next stages of the phased criteria introduction process we began with the Green League 2010.

Following feedback from previous Stakeholder Consultation events, this year People & Planet provided an unprecedented level of transparency and stakeholder oversight of the development and decision-making processes behind the Green League. Did we get it right? Are there further improvements we can make? Come and have your say.

We'd greatly value your input and expertise at this early stage to strengthen and improve People & Planet's Green League for 2011 and beyond.
