Public discussion and book launch - Searching for Resilience in Sustainable Development

31st Oct 2013 06:30 – 08:30

This event is free of charge and part of the opening festival events held at the new and spectacular Library of Birmingham.

John Blewitt’s and Daniella Tilbury’s new book Searching for Resilience in Sustainable Development will form the basis of a wide ranging discussing on resilience: what it is, and how it can, or should, form part of our search for a more sustainable world. The evening event will be wide ranging, stimulating and energising. More than a talking shop. Participants will look at what has been done, what shouldn’t have been done, and what is being done.

Organisations taking part include: The Schumacher Institute, Library of Birmingham, Sustainability West Midlands, E.ON, Localise West Midlands, the Royal Society of Arts, Pop Up Foundation, RailTrack/Quest for Solutions, Routledge-Earthscan, RCE Severn (UN endorsed Regional Centre for Sustainability Education) and Aston University.
