SEA as a tool to contribute to high level policy objectives

7th May 2010 10:25

Internationally, links have been made between SEA and the delivery of sustainable development and good governance. In Scotland, the Scottish Executive 2003-2007 identified SEA as a key tool to contribute to sustainable development and environmental justice. Since 2007, the new Scottish Government has re-framed the purpose of SEA as contributing to their goal of 'sustainable economic growth'. This conference brings together a range of expert perspectives to examine the outcomes and implications of identifying SEA as a tool to deliver high-level policy objectives.
