SUSTAINABILITY WORSKHOPS PROGRAMME 2013-14 

Theme: ‘SMART actions for sustainable campuses.’

This FREE workshop will explore the key challenges of securing a more sustainable future for education campuses and the students and staff that are based there. It will be highly interactive and maximise networking opportunities via World Café style discussion sessions.

Programme:
  • 13.30h – 13.55h coffee/tea, registration and informal tours of the Centre (a state-of-the art Passiv Haus design). Minibus shuttling from Tonbridge station to RRC.
  • 14.00h Welcome and introductions
  • 14.15h What is a sustainable campus? Dr Howard Lee, Sustainability Co-ordinator, Hadlow College
  • 14.30h 1st discussion forum: Sustainable campuses – what can we learn from existing programmes? Briefing.
  • 14.45h Break-out groups for discussion – one case study per group
  • 15.15h Plenary – the key points
  • 15.30h coffee/tea and networking
  • 16.00h 2nd discussion forum: Developing SMART targets for sustainable campuses. Briefing.
  • 16.15h Break-out groups for discussion – each group to develop targets
  • 16.45h Plenary – can we agree some key targets? Where do we go from here?
  • 17.00h Concluding points and end of Workshop. Minibus starts shuttle to Tonbridge station.
