Trees ~ Our Most Untapped Agricultural Asset

26th Oct 2010 00:00

We have a fantastic line up, speakers & organisations include: Lois Philipps, Duchy College; Organic Research Centre, Elm Farm; John Tucker, Woodland Trust; Adrian Morley, Eden Gardens; Bob Evans, Forestry Commission; Tom Overbury, Royal Agricultural College; Michelle Kerry, The Silvanus Trust; Roger Smith, Agricultural Advisor, Business Link; Stella Cubison, Garden Organic; (Richard Gedge, Natsley Farm tbc).

The day will look at various practical options for combining trees and food production. We hope to examine ways of working with both new and established trees to optimise economic, environmental and social benefits. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions as to why and how and address the practicalities of setting up or making better use of the trees on your farm or in your community. There will also be an opportunity to visit the woodland resource planted at Manor Farm, Coates by the Royal Agricultural College 19 years ago.

There will be a mini-exhibition during the networking lunch to give people the chance to talk to the experts and the organisations that can help. If you would like to exhibit please let me know as soon as possible as I only have 8 tables left, costs, booking details and further information are attached.

We do hope that you will be able to join us.
