Truly transformative teaching - Creating a responsible curriculum for sustainable development

6th Mar 2019 17:00 – 18:00

With creative industries increasingly focusing on environmental and social responsibilities, and students desires to work for responsible companies, educators are challenged to reconsider their curriculum and integrate sustainability into teaching and learning experiences (Chitrakorn, 2016).

Join us to hear this pedagogic research presentation from Dr Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, exploring the author’s motivations, intentions, experience and results of designing and delivering a responsible creative curriculum at scale. Effective education for sustainability should embody cooperative practices within the classroom, to foster sustainability literacy, whereby students are empowered to recognize and develop the ‘skills, attitudes, competencies, dispositions and values’ required to address global challenges (Stibbe & Luna, 2009).
