UK & Ireland Green Gown Awards Ceremony
18th Nov 2021 16:00 – 17:15
The Winners of the UK and Ireland Green Gown Awards will be announced on Thursday 18th November 2021 in a Virtual Ceremony at 4pm.
This year has seen us tackle unprecedented times and, whilst we are saddened not to be able to host a face-to-face Ceremony, we hope that you will join us to recognise and celebrate the outstanding projects that have been undertaken by our sector in recent months.
A strong ethos of the Green Gown Awards is that they are free for institutions to enter. We are making the Awards Ceremony free to attend but we do ask for a suggested fee of £50 per person to help us continue running the Green Gown Awards - you can make this donation here.
If you are unable to use the donation site, please contact us for an invoice here
The main source of income we receive to run the Green Gown Awards programme comes from the Awards Ceremony. Whilst we will not incur costs from a venue, we still have costs to run the Awards programme and host a virtual Awards Ceremony. We truly appreciate any donation you can make, no matter how small.
All donations will go towards the Green Gown Awards programme. We thank you for your support so we can continue to celebrate sustainability excellence in higher and further education.
We are delighted to announce that our Host will be Serena Bashal, COP Working Group, UK Youth Climate Coalition
Serena is 23 years old, from London, and has just graduated from a mathematics and biology undergraduate degree. She has been engaging with United Nations Climate Change for five years, working on thematics such as climate education and empowerment. She was elected as the 2019 Global Focal Point to the UN Climate Change youth constituency and currently sits as the youth representative on a UNFCCC technology task force. She is a Programme Coordinator for the 16th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth, as well as the UK youth delegate to the Pre-COP Milan youth event. She also volunteers with the UK Youth Climate Coalition and works on several other climate projects in her spare time.
