"Why won’t they change? A practical workshop on behaviour change and sustainability"

16th Nov – 17th Nov 2011 09:23

The University of Hertfordshire's Centre for Sustainable Communities is offering a 2 day workshop on 16/17 November 2011 entitled: "Why won’t they change? A practical workshop on behaviour change and sustainability".

This highly interactive workshop will show how methods taken from Personal Construct Psychology ("PCP") can be used to understand how people are behaving now and use them to support behaviour change to more sustainable and environmentally friendly ways (e.g. recycling waste, increasing the use of public transport and reducing energy consumption) in the workplace, at home and in public settings. From a PCP perspective, to change behaviour it is necessary first to find out why people are behaving in the ways that they are now and to identify the reasons why they are reluctant to change their behaviour to being more sustainable. Armed with that knowledge, those involved with managing and implementing change programmes will have a solid and practical platform for changing behaviour.

No previous knowledge of psychology is required to attend this workshop.

The workshop will be led by Nick Reed, Director of the Centre for Personal Construct Psychology, School of Psychology, University of Hertfordshire.

This workshop is open to all who are involved in the management of change. Full details of the workshop and a booking form can be found at:
