100s of Schools, Colleges and Unis take part in Go Green Week 2013
This week hundreds of Schools, Colleges and Universities all over the UK are taking part in Go Green Week 2013, showcasing practical solutions for tackling the climate crisis. People & Planet, the national organisers of Go Green Week, have suggested themes for each day of the week.
On Meat-Free Monday
, students and Staff at Glasgow Caledonian Uni are pledging to cut their meat consumption on the online pledge page with the DoNation
. On Travel-Light Tuesday
students at Aberdeen Uni are planning a Critical Mass bike ride to raise awareness of cyclists on the roads. On Waste-Not Wednesday
students at Derby are making smoothies out of waste fruit and others are holding Great Green Bake-offs with local ingredients. For Switch-Off Thursday
York University students are lobbying their uni to switch to clean, green electricity with Ecotricity, and for Funding Friday
students all over the UK are demanding that their universities support their green project ideas by creating a Sustainability Fund.
