Hamilton College’s energy dashboard

15th May 2012

Our relationship with AASHE grants us an insight into work being carried out on campuses on an international scale.

Hamilton College, New York, are committed to protecting and sustaining the environment through institutional processes, management of facilities, and curriculum. This leadership extends across the environmental spectrum from greenhouse gas reduction to preventing pollution of natural resources.

Hamilton’s energy dashboard supports the College’s sustainability initiatives by raising awareness of electricity use in many buildings (including most residence halls) and electricity, water and natural gas use in the Science Centre – all in real time.

Hamilton’s dashboard enables you to monitor the kilowatt-hours of electricity consumed through many of its buildings as it is being consumed. It also allows you to compare the energy consumption across campus buildings and, in turn, consumption per person within those campus buildings. It also puts Hamilton College in competition with other New York Colleges providing a competitive streak and gives you access to Green Tips.

This energy dashboard is a fantastic interactive resource and openly shares best practice 24/7.
