Help Wanted for Centre for Excellence in Leadership Research on New Build Programme Support

Jo Matthews is doing some research into what sort of support colleges would like either before, during or after a new build programme. It is commissioned by the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, to
inform the LSC, as there are so many new build programmes around.

Jo writes: I have myself, in my previous role as Deputy Principal at Somerset College been through two phases of new build and built the Genesis Centre (winner of the Green Gown for sustainable construction this year). So I have some experience of what would have been useful support. The LSC is interested in helping colleges, particularly senior staff, so that the maximum benefit is made of any new build, including sharing of good practice. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone in the network who would be happy to take part in the research. I can send a list of brief questions which can be answered by email, or I can call you for a chat. It will take about 20 minutes. I am particularly interested in the ‘in hindsight’ moments and what support could have prevented this.
Look forward to hearing from some of you. Jo Matthews,
