Investing in leadership when it matters most the EAUC Leadership Lab returns March 2026

4th August 2025

At a time of financial constraint, institutional uncertainty, and growing climate urgency, leadership has never been more critical or more challenging. That’s why the EAUC Leadership Lab returns in March 2026, offering an immersive, strategic leadership experience tailored specifically for those working in or aligned with post-16 education.

Taking place from 24–26 March 2026 at the University of Cambridge, this three-day residential programme brings together a cohort of senior and emerging leaders from across the sector. Facilitated by Professor Wendy Purcell (Wendy Purcell PhD FRSA, Senior Faculty at Rutgers University, Academic Research Scholar, Harvard University and Visiting Professor, UCL, University President Emerita and Emeritus Professor) and a globally respected faculty, the Leadership Lab supports leaders in developing the clarity, confidence and strategic insight needed to lead through complexity and drive meaningful, values-aligned change.

"The Leadership Lab helped me build confidence in my leadership approach, connect with passionate individuals across the sustainability field, and expand my network. It also gave me the space to explore diverse perspectives and reflect on complex challenges in a more strategic and creative way.”

“The sessions were all extremely useful and thought provoking, I would do the course again next year if I could!” (anonymous)

Who is it for?
The Leadership Lab is designed for leaders across post-16 education, including universities, colleges, and partner organisations. While many participants are experienced in their roles, the programme also supports those stepping up into new leadership responsibilities and those working to influence change from within.

The Leadership Lab is open to EAUC members and non-members, and to those working across a range of professional functions from sustainability and estates to teaching, strategy, HR, or operations.

Why now?
EAUC recognises the pressures facing institutions from tightening budgets to changing policy landscapes. But in times of uncertainty, it is precisely this kind of strategic leadership that institutions need to stay resilient, future-focused, and responsive to both student and societal needs.

The Leadership Lab empowers leaders to connect sustainability, inclusion, and institutional transformation, using proven frameworks and peer learning to support practical, grounded change.
