New opportunities for partnerships with LSIS

5th September 2011

The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) is dedicated to working in partnership with all parts of the sector to build and sustain self-improvement and to work closely with sector practitioners in the delivery of what LSIS provides.

LSIS operate a number of funds designed to give sector providers support for innovative projects with the potential to secure significant improvements in sector practice or performance.

In addition, to their Flexibility and Innovation Fund, throughout the year LSIS offer a range of funds for specific areas of work or research. The most recent opportunities available for LSIS to work with partners and communities to maximise impact include the Stepping Up in Sustainability Fund 2011 and the Regional Sustainability Advisers fund.

Stepping Up in Sustainability Fund 2011: Grant funding opportunities in sustainable development

Leading and Learning for a Sustainable Future is the LSIS sustainable development strategy and action plan, which was established in 2010 to support the sector in responding to the challenge of sustainable development.
Through the Stepping Up in Sustainability Fund and Cut the Carbon Fund LSIS has supported 27 provider-led projects to develop, expand and embed effective approaches to sustainable development and carbon reduction.

LSIS are now seeking bids from individual providers or groups of providers who wish to develop their original projects, or initiate new projects, in return for grants of up to £5,000 or £7,500.

The closing date for applications is 12.00pm on Monday 3rd October 2011

Regional Sustainability Advisers: promoting sustainability in your region

Leading and Learning for a Sustainable Future is the LSIS sustainable development strategy and action plan, which was established in 2010 to support the sector in responding to the challenge of sustainable development.

LSIS wishes to build on the excellent progress that has been made, by identifying and supporting nine Regional Sustainability Advisers (RSAs) to be ambassadors for embedding sustainability and sustainable development into organisational strategy, practice and performance, and for developing the capacity and capability of sustainability leaders to drive change.

They are now inviting applications from individuals within the sector who would like to be considered for this opportunity and for grants of £6,000 per RSA.

The closing date for applications is 12.00pm on Monday 3rd October 2011.
