Reward an inspiring young leader working in partnership with UK Higher Education

1st May 2015

Very few young people working in UK HE are being championed as they should be. So, this year University Business are launching the Young Leaders Awards to recognise the inspirational and dedicated under-30s working at and in partnership with universities across the UK.

To nominate your young stars, please visit and give reasons and examples of why the nominee should win the award. There are 8 award categories to choose from and these are open to anyone aged 30 years and under, working in UK higher education institutions. The closing date for nominations is 30 June.

✥ Digital trailblazer – the tech-wizard using and championing the latest innovations to improve university performance
✥ Sustainability champion – the eco-warrior striving to keep their campus green
✥ People pioneer – the team leader offering great guidance and top advice to their troupe
✥ Nifty networker – the outgoing socialite creating key relationships and opportunities with their cool communication skills
✥ Legal eagle – the sharp-eyed hotshot displaying best practice across the legal HE sector
✥ Marketing magician – the social media and marketing guru taking their university to the next level
✥ Admin angel – the tireless organiser keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes
✥ Money mogul – the neat number-cruncher with their finger on the financial pulse.

Entries will then be shortlisted by a judging panel, and winners will be announced at the awards evening on Wednesday 4 November at the beautiful Park Lane Hotel in London.
To add to the awards, University Business are working with the University Hospitality Seminars (UHS) annual conference ‘Future Proofing Commercial Success,’ taking place the day of the awards evening. If you are interested in attending please complete the booking form on and select how many places you require.

Don't forget that you can also acknowledge students in the Green Gown Awards 2015 Sustainability Champion Award - stage 1 is now open. This is open to both staff and students at a tertiary education institution and will recognise people at any level (except Executive level) who have worked hard at implementing a sustainability project/initiative (or several) and whose involvement has made a positive impact be that on their peers, their institution, their students, their local community or their local workforce.
