Student representative on the EAUC Board appointed from Salford University

11th November 2014

In September 2014, we sought a student representative to be a Guest on the EAUC Board of Trustees to ensure our continued success and to maintain representation from everyone that currently uses EAUC Membership – both staff and students.

Last year we opened Membership to include students and student unions, as well as staff within institutions. The Board of Trustees wished to explore the potential of student representation at a governance level. This will provide the Board with key insights on how we can further support Members in working together with students to promote sustainability.

We needed top a calibre student representative who reflects the diversity of our sector and will provide the expertise and experience our high profile, ambitious charity requires. We received some great candidates from our Member institutions and after much discussion we are pleased to announce that Diana Baker from Salford University was selected by the Board. Diana will be invited to future Board meetings until the Summer 2015, at which point the Board will review the position.

We welcome Diana to the Board as a Guest and look forward to sharing the Board’s insight in future Member benefits. We thank all those that applied for their interest in the EAUC and sustainability.
