Sustainability Network events taking place near you

14th February 2012

As you know, Regional Sustainability Advisers (RSAs) have been appointed by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) to help promote and embed sustainability within their regions and network, support and work with other providers in their region.

Each of the RSAs will be holding a Regional Sustainability Event in their region, and in many cases will be contributing to or leading additional or smaller events. The Regional Sustainability Events will bring together Further Education (FE) and skills practitioners at all levels within the region. They will provide opportunities to:

  • develop your understanding of and response to the sustainability agenda
  • meet, discuss and network with colleagues and stakeholders
  • share and acquire learning, experience and practice
  • hear from expert speakers.

These Regional Sustainability Events are free of charge to anyone working in the FE and skills sector, including in FE colleges, Adult Community and Learning providers and work-based training providers. They have been planned and are being hosted by the RSAs, who as sustainability practitioners in the sector are ideally placed to provide relevant, meaningful and valuable learning for colleagues.

Event details will be published on the LSIS events page, where you can book your place.

A number of the events are now open for booking:

  • South West: Thursday 1 March 2012 (open for booking)
  • North West: Friday 2 March 2012 (open for booking)
  • East of England: Wednesday 14 March 2012 (open for booking)
  • East Midlands: Thursday 22 March 2012 (open for booking)
  • West Midlands: Wednesday 18 April 2012: details available soon
  • North East: Monday 12 March 2012: details available soon
  • Yorkshire and the Humber: details available soon

Events are open to people from any region, but in the event of oversubscription, priority will be given to delegates based in the host region.

Events are not taking place in the London and South East regions, but if you are based in those areas you are welcome to register for one of the other events.

Please note that South Staffordshire College (where Mark Phillips, the West Midlands RSA, is based) is also hosting the West Midlands Teaching and Learning Fair on 15 March 2012, which will feature workshops on sustainability led by Mark. Places at this event are charged at £75 per person and can be booked on the LSIS website.
