Universities and the green economy: graduates for the future

27th September 2012

The EAUC has been a contributor to an Higher Education Adademy (HEA) Think-Tank report published this week on universities and the green economy.

While a number of universities are beginning to take curriculum reform seriously to ensure graduates are fit for 21st century citizenship and employment, it is not a strategic issue for many. While the EAUC is positive about the potential offered by the HEA Green Academy process much is to be done by policy makers to clarify and strengthen the national policy framework on this key agenda for universities and colleges.

The think tank was a stimulating event packed with illuminating discussions, innovative ideas, and valuable contributions from inspirational speakers and delegates from across HE, student bodies, and industry. It is being widely disseminated to the sector and policymakers and the report’s recommendations are very helpful for informing future HEA strategy and ESD-related priorities.
