Each year, students are offered the opportunity to present their research at the University of Leeds Annual Student Sustainability Conference. The conference brings together students, staff, businesses and members of the public to experience a diverse mix of interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate research, reflecting aspects of social, economic, environmental and cultural development. Past events have consisted of presentation sessions, panel talks, poster exhibitions and interactive lunchtime workshops. Research themes have spanned across Energy, Transport, Society and Community, Education and Behaviour, Governance, Communication, Ecology, and Urban Infrastructure. Delegates are also given the opportunity to network, collaborate and develop meaningful contacts, and broaden their insight of disciplines and the challenges faced in a changing world. Delegates also have the chance to hear about local projects on campus as part of the Living Lab programme, research taking place across the Leeds city region, and wider international sustainability projects having impacts across the globe. The Conference is also a great opportunity for students to practice their presentation skills, gain valuable feedback on their projects and make connections for their future research projects.
