Environmentally friendly cleaning policies - EAUC Member responses

In June 2011, Lucy Millard, Environmental and Sustainability Manager at the University of Manchester used the EAUC Educational Members' Network to ask about environmentally friendly cleaning policies.

"House Services contacted me as they had been approached by someone selling environmentally friendly cleaning products and they wanted some advice. I don’t know much about this area so I thought I would ask EAUC Members to see what they were doing.

We’re now doing a four week trial with a new product and if it works it will save us money, reduce deliveries, save space, reduce water consumption and will now only have to use cold water not hot, reduce the amount of empty plastic bottles to recycle, and help with health and safety issues."
