Adaptation Part 2: Public Bodies Climate Change Reporting and identifying existing adaptation action

20th Jul 2016 12:00 – 13:00

This webinar is the second of two adaptation presentations delivered by Adaptation Scotland, with part one providing an introduction to adaptation and Adaptation Scotland’s ‘Five steps’ guidance. Part two will focus on providing advice on completing the adaptation section of the Public Bodies Climate Change Reporting template with examples from 2015. It will also include a look at adaptation actions that are already being implemented in organisations but are not necessarily being called adaptation.

Why should I attend?
The Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 requires Public Bodies to act “in the way best calculated to help deliver” the Scottish Climate Change Adaptation programme. Part of this delivery requires Public Bodies (which includes universities and colleges) to report on their adaptation work on an annual basis. Reporting is now mandatory and the first reports must be submitted by 30 November 2016. This webinar will work through the reporting questions and provide guidance to help you complete the adaptation section of these reports. Being able to identify existing adaptation actions will also be useful to show more evidence in your reports.

Who is this webinar for?
This webinar is aimed at staff from universities and colleges who are responsible for completing the adaptation section of the Public Bodies Duties reports. It is also relevant for those with general responsibility for leading and supporting adaptation planning and action.

What key learning outcomes will I take away from this webinar?
The webinar will provide guidance to help you complete the adaptation section of the Public Bodies Climate Change Reports. It will also provide an alternative starting point for your adaptation work by allowing you to identify adaptation that may already be happening in your organisation but may not be labelled as adaptation.
