Karl Letten, Environmental & Sustainability Officer, De Montfort University emailed the EAUC Educational Members' Network to ask if anyone had taken part in an Everest type Challenge to encourage staff to use the stairs rather than the lift:

“Has anyone taken part in an Everest Challenge type thing to encourage staff to use the stairs rather than the lift? The idea being to count the number of steps taken and see how far up Everest, K2 or Fletcher Tower (that‟s one of DMU‟s landmarks) people can get with their steps.

If so I‟d really like to hear how it went and if there are any pitfalls to avoid. I‟m planning on using this as one of our Green Impact criteria for this year so I‟d be grateful for any help and advice.”
