Stepping Up Sustainability

Durack prides itself on being a leader in sustainability, and decided to embark on a project with staff and external stakeholders to develop a Sustainability Strategy. Durack’s staff and key stakeholders were invited to take part in a number of surveys, interviews and a series of workshops. The ideas, strategies and priorities that came out of those activities have all contributed to Stepping Up Sustainability, Durack Institute of Technology’s Sustainability Strategy Towards 2015. 

Top 3 learnings:

  • “Get some early runs on the board” –It is good to get an early achievement, so you can build some momentum.
  • “Divide and Conquer” – break sustainability into smaller strategies or committees.
  • “Share the Load” – Don’t try to do it all yourself. It is important to get early “by in” from management
