A presentation from Day 2 of the 17th EAUC Annual Conference 2013.

Topics covered:

Tertiary education institutions are part of a much bigger community. Often we don’t utilise and support the amazing sustainability work being carried out on our doorstep. Schools, employers, trade unions and community groups are carrying out activities that could significantly enhance the student experience if the links were made. Find out how the tertiary education sector in South London are integrating community work experience placements and outreach work into the curriculum. With South Thames College and Lewisham College as case studies.

Speakers:

Graham Petersen, UCU Environment Co-ordinator, University and College Union and Greener Jobs Alliance, Kristina Kerwin, Electrical Installation Student, South Thames College and Kirsty Dunlop, Learning Partnership Coordinator, Trade Union Studies, Lewisham College inc. Southwark College.
