Katie Ridley, Sustainability Adviser, Northumbria University emailed the Transport Planning network to ask,

“I am trying to get a feel for cycling facilities at other universities and just wondered if any of you charge cyclists for any cycle facilities on campus? E.g.

  • Secure cycle storage (i.e. not the toast racks but locked stores)
  • Personal lockers for clothing
  • Dr Bikes
  • Pool bikes

I’d be grateful for any insight into whether you charge or not and what sort of costs you have so that I can see if there is a norm for this.
