Hazardous and Special waste

Waste that is considered dangerous or difficult to deal with requires careful handling in order to minimise risk to waste collectors and the environment.

In England and Wales this type of waste is now classed as Hazardous Waste and in Scotland as Special Waste. Guidance is available from the Environment Agency and from SEPA
