Using Template 3 to quantify volume and general costs of waste

Insert the relevant information into the numbered columns

Column 1 Insert type of waste.
Column 2 Identify location of this waste e.g. Student shop, Room no, central stores, canteen, restaurants etc.
Column 3 Count/estimate number of sacks or containers per location e.g. Plastic sack, white sack, blue sack, sharps container, plastic box.
Column 4 For type of container, insert the appropriate conversion factor to convert to volume and then weight.
Column 5 Insert collection frequency either per week or month e.g. 5/wk, 3/wk, 1/2wk, 1/wk, 1/month.
Column 6 Multiply column 3 X column 4 X column 5 (x 52 or 12 depending on week or month frequencies) to get annual tonnage.
Column 7 Add up all costs and incomes associated with this waste type.
